Creating a healthy workplace

Sickness due to ill-health currently costs UK employers over £12 billion per year and successful companies are increasingly recognising the link between prosperous businesses and healthy workplaces. But lack of straightforward information on resources and evidence of what works can be an obstacle for organisations.

The Faculty of Public Health and the Faculty of Occupational Medicine have brought together health experts and industry, led by Rolls-Royce, and have produced a new guide called Creating a healthy workplace. Endorsed by the Trades Union Congress, employer organisations and a wide range of professional bodies, the guide is designed to highlight steps employers can take to improve health, well-being and productivity amongst their workforces.

The leaflet is available to order or download free of charge at www.fph.org.uk. An on-line supplementary guide, produced for occupational safety & health professionals and employers, can also be downloaded from this website.

For enquiries regarding this leaflet, please contact the Faculty of Public Health on 020 7935 0243 or the Faculty of Occupational Medicine on 020 7317 5890.
