End of Production (Gas Turbines)

Criteria for defining is as follows:
  • The engine is not currently assembled (or being planned for assembly) on a flow line basis.
  • The engine is at the end of production with diminishing schedules over the next two years (e.g. 4 or less Accounting Periods with demand in year 2 or, a gap of more than 4 AP's in demand).
Enforcing Authorities (HS&E) These include any national or local government officer, government agency or utilities employee (e.g. Electric, Gas, Water supply) empowered to enforce HS&E legislation.
Engineering specification The definition of product by drawings and / or by specification documents, including those acceptance standards that have been approved by Engineering and are necessary to define the design requirements and the quality standard of the material.
Environment The surroundings in which an organisation operates – including air, land, water, natural resources, living organisms, humans and their interrelation, in this context surroundings extend from within an organisation to the global system)
Environmental Assessment A survey of all aspects of the business likely to have an impact on human health or the environment.
Environmental Aspect An element of an organisation's activities or products or services that can interact with the environment.
Environmental Impact Any change to the environment, whether adverse or beneficial, wholly or partially resulting from an organisation's environmental aspects.
Environmental Management System Part of an organisation's management system used to develop and implement its environmental policy and manage its environmental aspects.
Environmental Objective The overall environmental goal, consistent with the environmental policy that an organisation sets itself to achieve.
Environmental Policy The overall intentions and direction of an organisation related to its environmental performance as formally expressed by it's top management.
Environmental Performance Measurable results of an organisation's management of it's environmental aspects.
Environmental Risk A process to identify significant hazards and determine the most suitable methods to prevent exposure or control such risks.
Environmental Target Detailed performance requirement, applicable to the organisation or parts thereof that arises from the environmental objectives and that needs to be set and met in order to achieve those objectives.
Equipment Specification A document that provides a detailed technical definition for a particular piece of equipment. (Rolls-Royce Naval Marine - Submarines)
Escape Product(s) or service(s) that do not meet the required standard or design data which have been shipped, or have left the supplier(s) quality management system.
Eurofighter The four-nation consortium responsible for the management and control of all aspects of the Eurofighter (Typhoon) project.
Eurojet The consortium of Rolls-Royce, ITP, Avio and MTU that manage and control all aspects of the EJ 200 engine project.
Evaluation Measurement, inspection, or testing to determine conformance of a characteristic to definition requirements.
Exostar An on-line system which enables suppliers to view Rolls-Royce schedules and respond with delivery promises.
