Term Definition
Landfill The disposal of waste by ground burial.
Legacy Part Parts for engines which are approaching, or have reached the end of new production build and for which there is no regular on-going spares schedule for manufacture using the established production part manufacturing processes. Stage 1 FAIR's are required for Legacy Parts in accordance with SABRe's FAIR Process, however Stage 2 Component Proving is not a requirement.
Life Management The activity or activities necessary to maintain structural and functional integrity throughout the life of the part / assembly in service operation.
Life Management Plan The plan which defines all the activities in life management.
Logistics Service Provider A supplier who makes available stocks of designated parts within Rolls-Royce to specified levels for release to production as required.
